The Spanish rider confirms the overwhelming power of Ducati on the Misano World Circuit and also wins Race 2. The Spaniard took part in the first skirmishes with Razgatlioglu and Rea, to which the host Michael Ruben Rinaldi was also added, but without making any mistakes and, making the best use of his V4, he took the lead.

In a race of only ten laps like the Sprint Race, a particularly motivated Razgatlioglu was able to get the better of the Bautista/Ducati duo, but over the distance of 21 laps here in Misano no one can keep up with the Spaniard's pace and the four-cylinder Bologna.

With the track clear in front of him, Bautista started running in 1'34 and took a lead over his rivals, with the Turkish driver in the lead. Michael Ruben Rinaldi fought his way from 10th on the grid to claim a second podium of the weekend and the season, after edging out Jonathan Rea on the third lap of the race. Jonathan Rea, who had made a poor rear tire choice, lost ground to the Italian but still kept a clear margin on the drivers behind him to finish in fourth place, the first time this season that Rea finished a race outside the podium.

When the places at the front were fixed, the attention of the spectators – who had come in large numbers to Misano, with more than 65.000 people over the three days – was attracted by the group of pursuers dominated by Iker Lecuona, who preceded Andrea Locatelli, Axel Bassani and Alex Lowes who could have done better if he had not received a Long Lap penalty for twice crossing the track limits.

Scott Redding and Loris Baz take the BMW to ninth and tenth place, while behind them the two “convalescents” Philipp Oettl and Roberto Tamburini surprise once again, obtaining eleventh and twelfth positions. Luca Bernardi closed the points zone with the Barni Racing Team V4, Eugene Laverty and Ilya Mykhalchyk.

Xavi Virginie, who fell following an alleged contact with Bassani, Garrett Geloff, who fell alone, Syahrin, Delbianco and Ruiu following technical problems did not cross the finish line.

In the Championship, the ranking is starting to smile on Alvaro Bautista who is now 33 points ahead of Jonathan Rea and 79 over Toprak Razgatlioglu.

We will have to wait a month to see the aces of Superbike action again. The fifth of twelve events takes place in Donington, UK from July 15-17.
