Loris Baz points out: while MotoGP begins to head towards the end of its summer break, the WSBK is heading towards its boarding zone. The Most deadline, this weekend, will therefore be a good opportunity to achieve one last positive result which will make the summer rest even more invigorating. The Frenchman knows, since Donington, that he has the opportunity with a BMW whose latest evolution seen in England has allowed a good progression in terms of performance. The official team driver Scott Redding even took the opportunity to get on the podium in the sprint race. Loris Baz will want to echo him for the Bonovo satellite team in the Czech Republic.
During the last round of the WSBK at Donington, two weeks ago, Scott Redding had completely reassured his employer BMW on its ability to evolve the M1000RR. The addition of the original Kalex swingarm enabled him to achieve a solid overall result during the three races offered with a fourth, a third, then a fifth position. Due to less favorable qualifications marked by a fall, Loris Baz, with a bike at the same stage of development, had to be content with the top 10 area.
An improvement experienced on the ground by the Dr. Markus Schramm, director of BMW Motorrad and on which Marc Bongers, director of BMW Motorsport, takes stock of speedweek : " at Donington we were able to confirm that we were working in the right direction with our developments. Scott and Loris gave very positive feedback and the racing performances were up to par. It's important to build on that at Most, even if the route is completely different in its characteristics"

Loris Baz: I felt very good progress at Donington
« I felt very good progress at Donington with the new swingarm and the new parts that BMW has developed" , said Loris Baz of the German team Bonov before taking up residence in Most. “ I just think I need a little more time to further adjust the bike setup and we have some ideas for that with the guys« .
He adds : " it's important to have a solid race before the summer break. After that, we still have a few opportunities to fine-tune the bike for the rest of the season. This weekend will be important to confirm the good sensations I had with the new swingarm at Donington "
At BMW, because Michael van der Mark is still recovering from a fractured femoral neck, and is expected to make his return after the summer break at Magny-Cours in September and reserve driver Ilya Mikhalchik is preparing for the Suzuka Eight Hours in Japan, the TT winner Peter hickman will be in the ranks again after his wild card at Donington Park.
