The first day of free testing for the Superbike in Portugal is over. During FP2 this afternoon, the fastest on the Autódromo Internacional do Algarve was Soil Razgatlioğlu, who achieved a time of 1'40″720 during his first time attack. He beat the Kawasaki of Jonathan Rhea of 476 thousandths and the Ducati ofAlvaro Bautista of 503 thousandths.

The Yamaha rider seems to be very comfortable on the Portimão track, and his pace is also very good. FP3 tomorrow morning will certainly be very important to progress before the Superpole and the races. The reigning SBK champion seems to be the favorite, but Sale et Baptist also achieved interesting times in terms of pace.

Rinaldi is there, Lecuona also good, but not BMW
A good fourth time for Michael Ruben Rinaldi, who is just behind Álvaro on the other Panigale V4 R from the Aruba Ducati team. The Italian seems to be in good form in Portugal, and it is no coincidence that he closed FP1 in the lead in the morning. Behind him is Iker Lecuona on the Honda, determined to redeem a weekend below expectations like the one in Barcelona.

Alex Lowes is sixth on the factory team's other Kawasaki, more than 9 tenths behind Razgatlioğlu . Seventh, Axel Bassani (Motocorsa Ducati), the first of the independent riders, ahead Garrett gerloff (GRT Yamaha). Positive ninth place for Philipp Ottl on the Panigale of the Go Eleven team. Top 10 completed by Scott Redding with a BMW that doesn't seem to be in too good shape in Portimão.

Andrea Locatelli on the Yamaha R1 of the Pata Brixx team is only twelfth, while Roberto Tamburini is sixteenth. The nineteenth was Jake (Jacob) Gagne, freshly champion of MotoAmerica Superbike.
