To Toprak Razgatlioglu, it was very frustrating to lose against Alvaro Bautista in Portimão. The 2021 Superbike champion is confident he can counter the combination better Bautista-Ducati with the BMW, at least as far as the straight line is concerned. Obviously, that won't be enough, because the Spaniard can also be very effective in the corners thanks to his driving style. For Toprak it will be important to find a way to brake with the M 1000 RR in the same way as has been done in recent years with the Yamaha R1. It won't be easy, Garrett Gerloff already warned him.
BMW will certainly do everything possible to restore Razgatlioglu in the best possible conditions. He has invested a lot in himself and, in general, he invests a lot in the Superbike project. He wants to succeed and with a top driver like the Turk, he is aiming to win the title for the first time since competing in the championship. So far, the only one to have come close is Marco Melandri in 2012.
Toprak has received assurances from the German company, which has already started implementing internal changes and plans more for the future. We will see if the efforts will be sufficient to overcome Baptist et Ducati in 2024.
