WSBK Superbike, Toprak Razgatlioglu-BMW: the expected debut in Portimao with Video

Toprak Razgatlioglu already tested the BMW in Portugal today: the test was initially scheduled for Monday.

The beginnings of Toprak Razgatlioglu on BMW M1000RR were supposed to take place on Monday 4 December, but this happened today. Recently, the official Superbike World Championship channels published photos and videos of the Turkish rider at the Autodromo Internacional do Algarve in Portimao.

Between BMW and Toprak Razgatlioglu, it’s already on!  

Not having been able to ride Jerez end of October and November, due to lack of agreement with Yamaha , the Turkish rider had to wait to get on the German bike. Obviously, testing in December can be problematic due to low temperatures and the risk of rain. Fortunately, the weather was good today in Portimao and testing was brought forward as the forecast predicts possible rain for tomorrow. He also made one of his famous stoppies.

The original plan was for him to shoot in Portugal on Monday, then go to Spain, to Jerez, to shoot on Tuesday and Wednesday. We will see what the next steps are for the ROKiT BMW Motorrad WorldSBK team, which obviously also employs Michael van der Mark these days. The Dutchman has had another difficult year due to physical problems and is hoping for an unhindered 2024.

Clearly, the Munich house expects a clear qualitative leap next season. It is investing a lot to reduce the gap with Ducati et Yamaha , who are today at the top of the grid. The hiring of Soil Razgatlioglu is part of this project which has the ultimate objective of fighting for the Superbike world title.
