Championship leader Toprak Razgatlıoğlu is ready to defend his position in the first of three consecutive rounds of the 2021 FIM Superbike World Championship, which begins this weekend at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, a circuit now familiar to the Pata Yamaha team with Brixx WorldSBK tested there at the end of March.

The Turkish rider has come a long way since the 2020 WorldSBK round in Catalunya, where an unfortunate crash during Sunday's warm-up prevented him from challenging for victory in the Superpole race and Race 2. The WorldSBK program will begin as usual on Friday morning at 10:30 a.m. with Free Practice 1, with a Free Practice 2 session in the afternoon from 15:00 p.m., both sessions lasting 45 minutes.

Toprak Razgatlıoğlu : " Barcelona wasn't easy last year, but for me everything is different this year. My team, the bike, and everything works very well together, and even since the test at the beginning of the year, I feel stronger on each circuit. I always say I don't watch the championship, but I know I need big points in every race. I just focus on the next session, the next race, and trying to win. We will work and prepare with my team as best we can on Friday, to do a race simulation and find the settings, then we will see. »
