The Evan Bros WorldSSP Yamaha Team is pleased to announce the signing of Andrea Mantovani for the 2023 season, set to make his debut in the World Supersport Championship aboard the Ravenna-based team's Yamaha YZF-R6.

Born in Ferrara on September 30, 1994, Andrea has proven over the years to be a versatile driver, capable of being fast in several categories. From 2016 to 2018 he showed his potential in Superstock 1000, where he obtained two fifth places as best results, while in 2019 – 2020 he confirmed his speed in CIV Superbike, obtaining a podium.

In 2021, he made his debut in the Superbike World Championship, competing in two rounds, and already managing to win, on a selective circuit like Assen, his first points at the first opportunity. At the same time, he made his debut in MotoE, where he finished the season with eighth place as his best result. In 2022 he is one of the main protagonists of the CIV Superbike, where he conquers the fourth position in the championship thanks to four podiums, and competes in two rounds of the MotoE championship, taking fourth place in Mugello.

Now for Andrea, matured and improved season after season, it is time to take on a new challenge in WorldSSP, with the team that was world champion in the category in 2019 and 2020. A duo determined to aim high in 2023.

Andréa Mantovani: “ I'm really happy to have signed with the Evan Bros team. WorldSSP Yamaha is a great opportunity. I will have to adapt quickly to riding the 600, after a few seasons on the 1000, but I am sure that by working hard we can be competitive straight away. We are going to start the season on two tracks that I don't know, but that shouldn't scare us: I can't wait to start this great adventure. »

Fabio Evangelista (Team Principal): “JI am very happy to welcome Andrea to the team. He's a guy we've been following for a while: we think he's an excellent driver, capable, with the right elements, of expressing his high potential. He will definitely need a period of adaptation, but I am sure that together we will be able to benefit quickly and achieve results. I would like to thank Yamaha, who will support us again next season by believing in us, and all the partners who made this agreement possible. »

Mauro Pellegrini (crew chief): “ Andrea is a guy who is close to my heart and in whom I believe a lot. He's taken major steps forward over the last period, improving and maturing in just the right way. I am convinced that now is the right time to start this adventure together. »
