Alvaro Diaz triumphs at Misano in the great fight of the Supersport 300 in Race 2. A success obtained with sweat and excellent management in the final for the Spanish driver who, with Marc Garcia only 13th, overtakes him at the top of the drivers' standings . With the victory, only the second driver to win more than one race this season so far, Diaz regained the championship lead. With him on the podium we find Yuta Okaya and Victor Steeman on the two Kawasakis who are thus getting closer to the first places in the ranking, "thanks" also to the zero points of Samuel De Sora who had to stop following a technical problem on his Ninja.

Without Matteo Vannucci, winner yesterday, who suffered chest trauma following a fall during warm-up and was evacuated by helicopter, everything was restarted in this race where none of the drivers managed to escape, Diaz took the lead in the final laps. At the controls of his Yamaha YZF-R3, the Arco Motor University Team rider resisted the pressure of the fastest and made the difference by winning second place by four tenths of a second.

Finishing in the middle of the podium, Yuta Okaya managed to get behind Diaz in the second half of the Italian track midway through the final lap after a battle with other riders who were also at the controls of a Ninja 400. In the end, Okaya was able, just like the winner, to have a small safety distance for a whole series of drivers who came after him.

After managing to secure third place just outside the final corner, Victor Steeman was involved in some tough battles and was never able to rest in those final moments. Finishing more than half a second behind his teammate, #72 secured the second podium of the season after winning the second race at Assen. Hugo de Cancellis, Dirk Geiger and Lennox Lehmann closed out the top six in a difficult exchange of positions that lasted until the last second of the race.

With seven laps remaining, Samuel Di Sora had problems on his Kawasaki and had to retire. Our other French driver, Hugo de Cancellis, finished just off the podium.

In terms of championship, Alvaro Diaz leads with 125 points and a difference of 20 points to Marc García. Samuel Di Sora is third, 24 points behind the leader. Victor Steeman and Yuta Okaya hold 96 and 92 points respectively.
