This time, it was the right one! Adrian Huertas clinches the Supersport 300 title after his last championship opponent, Jeffrey Buis, was forced to retire. The victory went to Samuel di Sora, who thus brought France its first success in the category.

We didn't have to wait for Jules Cluzel's victory in Supersport to hear the Marseillaise resonate in the bays of the Portimão circuit! Samuel di Sora (Leader Team Flembbo) has indeed signed his first triumph in Supersport 300, which is also the first for France in the category.

The Frenchman knew how to do well, taking advantage of the fight between the two title contenders to get this first victory. A tough battle which left one of them on the floor, namely the defending champion Jeffrey Buis (MTM Kawasaki).

The energy of despair, Buis's last weapon in the quest for the title

It is true that the Dutchman was engaged in a desperate fight against Adrian Huertas (MTM Kawasaki), falling 36 points behind with only two races remaining. But he gave his opponent a hard time, battling with him for more than half the race after starting from fifth place on the grid, where his opponent had taken pole position in the morning. .

Tired for Buis, he was forced to retire due to a fall following contact in turn 3 with the Spaniard. His hopes of a coronation were then over, Huertas being thus mathematically assured of winning the title, even in the event of retirement. The Iberian therefore had fun during the last laps, fighting a good skirmish against Di Sora, who finally won by 67 thousandths of a second on the finish line.

The last step of the podium goes to the Japanese Yuka Okaya (MTM Kawasaki), while the top 5 is completed by Bahattin Sofuoğlu (Biblion Yamaha Motoxracing) and the Briton Tom Booth-Amos (Fusport – RT Motorsports by SKM Kawasaki), author of a convincing return to competition after his withdrawal last week in Jerez.
