The defending champion was the fastest in the first free practice session in the Supersport category this Friday morning, leading a trio of Yamahas to the front.

A few moments after the end of the first free practice session for the Superbike, it was the turn of the Supersport entrants to return to competition this Friday morning. Dominique Aegerter therefore begins the defense of his title dearly acquired last year against Steven Odendaal.

The Swiss driver did not disappoint by quickly reaching the top of the timesheet, initially ahead of Lorenzo Baldassarri and Can Öncü. Aegerter thus achieved a first mark in 1'54.070, more than two tenths better than his closest pursuer.

The leading trio thus remained unchanged for a long time, before Jules Cluzel, who we recall finished last season with a bang (winning his four successes in 2021 in the last six rounds) and can therefore present himself as a legitimate contender for the title this year, makes a breakthrough into third position.
