This Saturday in Jerez, the Spanish Supersport rider Adrian Huertas made history by becoming the first rider to win both the WorldSSP300 and WorldSSP titles.

Racing in the official Aruba.it Racing – Ducati colours, he secured the 2024 FIM Supersport World Champion title, capping off an exceptional season with Ducati. This marks a remarkable achievement for the Spanish rider, who has continued to impress with his consistent performances and determination, becoming in the process at 21 the youngest Supersport World Champion of all time.

Adrian Huertas, who began his career in the Red Bull MotoGP™ Rookies Cup and European Talent Cup in 2018 and 2019, made his mark in the FIM Supersport 300 World Championship, claiming the title in 2021. His move to WorldSSP in 2022 has seen him consistently make his mark each year, finishing 12th on an MTM Kawasaki Kawasaki ZX-6R in both 2022 and 2023.

In 2024, by joining the Ducati fold to ride a Panigale V2, the Madrid native was a dominant force, claiming 10 wins, 18 podiums and eight pole positions. He notably took his first WorldSSP victory in Barcelona at the Pirelli Catalunya round and secured three consecutive one-two finishes at Misano, Donington Park and Most, as he engaged in a thrilling title battle with Stefano Manzi (Pata Yamaha Ten Kate Racing) and Yari Montella (Barni Spark Racing Team). Huertas’ switch to the Ducati Panigale V8 proved decisive, eventually leading him to win the Supersport World Championship. With the win, he became the first rider to win both the WorldSSP2 and WorldSSP titles.

But instead of climbing the last step of the World SBK and move to Superbike, Adrian Huertas has signed with Italtrans Moto2 for the 2025 season, which will mark a new chapter in his career.

Adrian Huertas | Aruba.it Racing – Ducati: “It’s been an incredible season because I fought a lot. It wasn’t easy in the last races because we had a lot of problems. In the end we did what we had to do, which was to stay on the bike and score points. It was really important for us and today we won the world title. It’s incredible! It’s my second world title after the 300 SSP2021 championship and I feel great. I want to thank my team because they trusted me before this season when I didn’t even finish on the podium in this category. Many people said I wasn’t able to do it and that I wouldn’t repeat what Nicolo Bulega did last year. I want to thank the team for trusting me and now we are world champions together.”
