Lucas Mahias' efforts to remain in the international fold through his freelance work, notably for the benefit of the Puccetti Kawasaki team, will have finally borne fruit. Lucas Mahias returns to his favorite discipline
The Supersport World Championship is the flagship discipline of the driver of 34 years. In 2014 he won the national championship, already with the team GMT94. In 2017, Mahias beat the multiple world champion Kenan Sofuoglu in the GRT Yamaha team and won the world title.
He was also twice world runner-up and fourth at the world championships twice. He has won new victories and 29 podiums in 72 races. He also competed in the Superstock 1000 and the World Superbike Championship, with much less success.
In 2019, he joined Kawasaki and has only ridden one different brand in the World Endurance Championship: a Yamaha R1. In 2023, Lucas Mahias did not find a permanent team in the Superbike world championship, but was used as a replacement rider for Puccetti Kawasaki at six meetings, once in the Superbike category, five times in the Supersport category.
