The Circuit de Nevers Magny-Cours welcomes this weekend the 7th meeting of the 12 planned for 2022 Supersport World Championship with almost autumnal weather conditions: temperatures below 20° and frequent showers encouraged the leaders in the category to take their time, knowing that the situation should clearly improve over the weekend.

At the head of the FP1 and FP2, we therefore found neither Dominique Aegerter (Ten Kate Racing Yamaha) already titled in MotoE™ at Misano and arrived in Nièvre as leader of the Supersport Championship with 14 points ahead of a Lorenzo Baldassarri (Evan Bros. WorldSSP Yamaha Team) brilliant at Most, nor Nicolò Bulega (Aruba.it Racing WorldSSP Team), Can Öncü (Kawasaki Puccetti Racing) and Stefano manzi (Dynavolt Triumph), the current contenders for the 3rd step of the podium, but Adrian Huertas (MTM Kawasaki) and Valentine Debise (GMT94 Yamaha), one of the two wildcards entered by the French structure in partnership with Yamaha France and the FFM.

Very good performance from the Albigensian French Supersport 600 champion, while conversely the weekend is already over for Matthieu Gregory who leaves Nièvre declared unfit with wrist pain and a destroyed motorcycle.

With the fluctuating track conditions, a time of 1'41.776 was enough to  Valentine Debise to win yesterday in front Federico Caricasulo et Dominique Aegerter, but what will happen this Saturday in Superpole, keeping in mind that 1'40.330 was achieved there by the 2021 pole sitter Luca Bernardi ?

When the 20 remaining drivers set off for the 29 minutes of Superpole, the sky is overcast but it is not raining, with temperatures of 17° in the air and 21° on the ground.

From the outset, Can Öncü (Kawasaki Puccetti Racing) in 1'41.404 shows that the track has improved since yesterday. Adrian Huertas improves in 1'41.230 but the Turkish driver regains the advantage in 1'41.190 on the next pass.

After eight minutes, Dominique Aegerter took command in 1'41.016, before passing the baton to Federico Caricasulo in 1'40.912.

At this point in the session, when almost everyone returns to the box, the GMT94 drivers are 7th, 8th and 18th, with Valentin Debise, Andy Verdoïa et Jules cluzel.

We leave for the final rush and Glenn Van Straalen (EAB Racing Team) enters the top 3, but it is Adrian Huertas which lowers the reference to 1'40.692 before Federico Caricasulo regains his position in 1'40.565 after a good catch-up...

The last minute sees Lorenzo Baldassarri seize 2nd place while the GMT94 drivers, Andy Verdoïa, Jules Cluzel and Valentin Debise, will start 9th, 10th and 15th: undoubtedly a disappointment on their land…
