Too bad for Stefano manzi : the red flag six laps from the finish prevented him from attacking Dominique Aegerter in race 2 of the Supersport at Mandalika. It was not a foregone conclusion to beat the recent double world champion, but the direct confrontation would have provided sparks. Instead, the fall of Saturday's winner, Niki Tuuli, rocked the plan.

The Finnish MV Agusta rider was third behind the two wild front runners and got up without damage, but the dirty track caused the race to be stopped. Dominique Aegerter celebrated his 15th victory of the season, in 22 races.

Triumph vertical takeoff
Even if the odds are cast, the race was very close. Niki Tuuli was looking for an encore, with the MV Agusta in great form on this track. But Can Öncü, holder at Kawasaki Pucetti, did not let him escape, favoring the return ofagitated and Manzi author of a complicated departure. When the red flag came out, the group was already stretched, with the two breakaways preparing to battle it out to the end. The Triumph is growing exponentially, Stefano manzi was very effective and the possibility of repeating the victory of Portimão is concrete. The Romagnol took second place with the British three-cylinder which could become ambitious for 2023. Can Öncü completes the podium.

De Rosa in good shape
Raffaele De Rosa also made a good comeback, vehemently moving up the peloton to get ahead of Yari Montella and his distinguished teammates, Niccolo Bulega et Federico Caricasulo, in a close fight between Ducati Panigale V2. Next weekend, in Australia, the Ducatisti could find a track suitable for twin cylinders. The other “big ones” Triumph and MV Agusta have already broken the ice, who knows if Ducati will also be able to christen the first Supersport season of the new generation with a victory.
