Alongside Ana Carrasco in Supersport 300, this year the WSBK championship will have a second female representative in the person of Maria Herrera.

The native of Talavera de la Reina, in the heart of Spain, will participate in the 2021 World Supersport Challenge with the Roman team Biblion Motoxracing Yamaha, which will receive direct support from the Yamaha factory for its second season in the intermediate category.

Concretely, she will compete in the nine rounds taking place in Europe, in conjunction with her MotoE program with the Aspar team. The young 24-year-old pilot, who in his time fought with fabio quartararo in CEV, already has good experience in Supersport, having appeared there in 2019 and 2020.

Maria Herrera : " I chose this team because a lot of people speak highly of Sandro Carusi, the team manager, the bike, the structure and the potential it has. My goal for this year is to do a great job and have fun and go fast. »

Sandro Carusi : " I am very happy to be able to announce the participation of the Biblion Motoxracing Yamaha team in the WSSP with Maria Herrera. Having the only woman in the championship, who is a great talent, gives us the opportunity to show the level we have reached. I'm sure it will be a great motivation for all of us. »
