For the first time this year, the reigning Supersport world champion, Dominique Aegerter (Ten Kate Racing Yamaha), will not start on the front row!

The Swiss pilot actually missed the Superpole this morning, bowing to a trio of Italians composed of Lorenzo Baldassarri (Evan Bros. WorldSSP Yamaha Team), new circuit record holder, Federico Caricasulo (Althea Racing) and Nicholas Bulega (Aruba.it Racing WorldSSP Team) who dislodged him from the front row in the final moments of the session. It just precedes Andy Verdoïa (GMT94 Yamaha) and Glenn van Straalen (EAB Racing Team) who will start alongside him.

Adrian Huertas (MTM Kawasaki), Raffaele De Rosa (Orelac Racing VerdNatura WorldSSP) and Yari Montella (Kawasaki Puccetti Racing) form the 3rd row while you have to go to 10th place to find Valentine Debise, also one of the losers of the Superpole.

But if the starting grid is one thing, the race is another, and it will take place over 19 laps, more than enough to defend your chances, whatever your starting position.

The temperatures are 19° in the air and 26° on the ground and it started to rain again just before the 300 race, then a few drops fell again during the Superbike race, but the track is now completely dry .

When the red lights go out... Lorenzo Baldassarri got off to a good start but was attacked at the first turn by Nicholas Bulega.

Just behind, a collective fall caused by Can Öncü sends to the ground Dominique Aegerter, Andy Verdoïa, Federico Caricasulo, Raffaele de Rosa and Yari Montella, which allows Lorenzo Baldassarri to escape.

The race is not stopped and we then find Adrian Huertas in second position, in front Glenn Van Straalen, Can Öncü, Valentin Debise and Nicolò Bulega.

Can Öncü receives a well-deserved Ride Through while Valentine Debise takes the best of Glenn Van Straalen to temporarily settle in third position.

More Van Straalen doesn't give up and puts pressure on the Frenchman...

The Dutchman regained the advantage with 12 laps to go and it was then a six-way battle for the podium, with Huertas, Van Straalen, Debise, Manzi, Odendaal and Bulega.

Glenn Van Straalen takes the lead of this group in front Valentine Debise but Stefano Manzi does not hear it that way and places his Triumph at the head of this group of furious people eight laps from the checkered flag.

Our national champion does better than defend himself and the GMT6 Yamaha R94 soon appears in second position in the general classification!

Six laps from the flag drop, while Lorenzo Baldassarri prances in the lead with a lead of six seconds, Stefano manzi regains second place on the podium and tries to escape from the battle of ragpickers for the last two steps of the podium.

Three rounds later, Glenn Van Straalen takes the advantage over the Frenchman and effectively excludes him from the podium, but the latter reacts and recovers third position immediately.

As the final round approaches, Steven Odendaal pass Valentine Debise who is undoubtedly disappointed but has already clearly shown in this first race of the weekend that he has his place in the world championship!

Second victory of the year for Lorenzo Baldassarri which goes back to 39 points of Dominique Aegerter, the big loser of the day.
