We knew Supersport World Championship driver Niki Tuuli was seriously injured on May 22 during the warm up in Estoril, then replaced in Misano by Mattia Casadei on the MV Agusta F3 800, but even if the words gave us chills, the images are an additional step that the Finnish driver decided to take by publishing them on his Instagram account. This is in order to accept his spectacular injuries.

Niki Tuuli  (from the Portuguese hospital, end of May): " Hi all ! Shit happens sometimes and it was my time yesterday morning during warm up: I had a little highside but unfortunately my toes got into the chain somehow and my toes got really broken ! I had surgery last night and I think everything went well, I'm waiting for more information here at the hospital to find out more! Thank you to all of you. Also sorry for my team! I'm trying to get back as soon as possible!! »

A week later…

“Just a quick update on my condition. The first operation was on Sunday and during that operation they tried to fix everything with nails or something, I don't know how to say this correctly, but the damage was so bad that my toes didn't lively even after the operation... The second operation took place on Thursday and unfortunately we had to amputate my three toes! Right now, a lot of pain and a lot more nerve pain. It looks like on Wednesday it will be possible to go home… Thank you all for the kind messages, it means a lot to me. »

Early June…

« I'm really sorry that I won't be able to take part in the Misano round. It wasn't what I wanted, but that's part of the sport of dealing with injuries. I tried in every way to be present, for the team, for MV Agusta, for our partners and for the fans, it's our home round and we had excellent test results. Unfortunately my condition does not allow me to be on the track, and I must respect medical deadlines. Now I will try to recover to come back as quickly as possible and reward the team with the best possible results. Now all I can do is thank the team, sponsors and fans for their support, and wish my team and my replacement all the best for the Misano weekend! See you soon ! »

Niki Tuuli published a story last weekend showing his left foot amputated of three toes at 18° and accompanied by the caption “ Fysioniska helps me recover as quickly as possible. Not much longer to wait »

Although the Finnish driver tried everything possible to make his return to Misano, he will also be absent at Donington Park this weekend. But, what is certain is that, when he returns, possibly to Most, he will have the greatest respect from the public and all his peers, not even to mention ours!
