Aragon

Here are the official times and final rankings for the second day of Superbike testing in Aragon. Even today, the fastest was Rea with the Kawasaki.

About Matthew Bellan de Motoracing

The second and final day of testing in Aragon ended with a few teams from the Superbike World Championship and one from the Supersport World Championship as protagonists. The action will resume on March 30 and 31 in Barcelona, where other teams from both categories will be present.

The best lap of the day was signed by Jonathan Rhea. Already leader yesterday, the pilot Kawasaki lowered his time to 1'49″482 on day 2, close to the race record of 1'49″375 established by Toprak Razgatlioglu. Certainly an interesting performance for the six-time WSBK world champion, who also focused on improving the pace on worn tires. An important goal was to reduce stress on the front tire and work on the electronics to achieve better acceleration.

Superbike, Aragon test: improvements also for Honda

Behind Sale were Xavi Virgo (1’49″565) and Iker Lecuona (1'49″584) with their Honda. As the team leader explained yesterday Leon Camier, HRC brought an updated chassis and new exhaust to the CBR1000RR-R Fireblades. Today was also a day of testing and comparison. There was also work on the electronics. Both drivers lowered their times yesterday and there is satisfaction in the box.

The other factory driver Kawasaki finished fourth with alex lowes in 1’49″585. Also on track at Motorland, the test rider's Ninja ZX-10RR Florian Marino and that of the Pedercini Viñales team led by Isaac Viñales.

There was great anticipation to see Bradley Ray of the Yamaha Motoxracing team in action, but unfortunately yesterday there was a problem with the engine of his R1 which prevented him from running. It was only this afternoon that he was able to complete a few laps (43). Certainly a little disappointment for him and the team, who were counting on this test before moving to Barcelona.

Team Motozoo raced for the Supersport World Championship today with Tom Booth-Amos and Luke Power. The first finished in 1'55"869, while his teammate in 1'57"050.
