Victor Steeman, 22, pilot in a WSS300 that he has been with since 2019 and in which he claims six podiums and five victories, had a serious accident this Saturday during the first race of this tumultuous peloton in Portimao. His injuries are serious and the next few hours will be crucial for the Dutch driver who underwent surgery last night.

Victor Steeman is unfortunately still far from being out of the woods after his serious accident in Supersport300 in Portimao. He was involved in a collision with Jose Luis Perez Gonzalez (Accolade Smrz Racing) which immediately brought out the red flags which ended the event.

The pilot Kawasaki suffered serious head injuries in the impact. According to witnesses on site, he had to be resuscitated twice, plunged into an artificial coma before being evacuated by helicopter to Faro hospital. He remains in critical condition this morning according to a press release from the WSBK.

Diagnosed with polytrauma and head injuries assessed as “very serious”, he was operated on and, according to doctors, the next few hours will be crucial. Victor's parents are on their way from the Netherlands to Portugal. Victor Steeman is engaged in the hardest and most essential battle.
