Jules Cluzel knows panache. The Frenchman has demonstrated so much to us during his career that he would almost be a synonym, an illustration. During the second race of his now WSS discipline, the 94-year-old GMT32 pilot gave a new recital in the register of motivation and mental strength. Starting last after being demoted from his pole position, he moved up the entire peloton to play for victory and finally get on the podium...

A rise and a determination reminiscent of a Marc Marquez beautiful days in Grand Prix. Jules Cluzel was sparkling while showing a strength of character that would be cited in all schools of life. During race 1, he was hit by his opponent Tuuli in a merciless duel for victory. Race 2 was a new opportunity to make things happen on an Aragon track changed by rain. But even before hostilities began, a new twist of fate struck the tricolor.

The officials, in fact, noticed a tire pressure problem. Jules then had 1.596 kilograms at the back instead of the regulatory 1.600 kilograms... The sanction was immediate: he would have to start from last place on the starting grid. What to demotivate him after the misfortunes of the day before? It's not a good idea to know the Montluçonnais who launched into a frantic climb as soon as the pack was released...

A performance which put him squarely in the lead with three laps to go. But the opponents who had taken his wheel passed him before the finish, and in particular a Yamaha R6 Bardahl whose engine health has never ceased to amaze since last season. That being said, Jules cluzel saved the essential in a weekend which could have been dramatic from the start for the objective set by the GMT94 : the title. Because during this time, his second pilot Load it was a complete failure.

The boss Christophe Guyot commented on this opening round in Aragon: “ it was possible to collect maximum points this weekend for Jules with pole and two possible victories. We leave with a podium. We are obviously disappointed but this still bodes well for the rest of the season ».

Jules Cluzel: “I was the best performer of the weekend”

Jules cluzel, for his part, recounted his weekend thus, making the profession talk: “ we had a constructive weekend. We didn't score the expected points, but we were very competitive. I was also relieved to feel so good after the incident in the first race. I had an excellent feeling throughout the weekend, with an extremely healthy bike, but I regret not having made it happen with a victory ».

« I felt the power of my engine compared to my competitors until I came up against one of them » he said mischievously. “ Our adjustment to the rear suspension did not allow me to maintain enough grip at the end of the race to escape. Despite this I know that I was the best performer of the weekend, and I can't wait to start the next race ". It will be next weekend in Portugal, near Estoril. THE 16 points marked put Jules cluzel ranked eighth in the overall WSS championship standings. He has 34 points behind on Odendal who refueled with two victories in two races on the Bardahl Yamaha.
