The 2020 WSS season started at Phillip Island a long time ago, but we had to go through confinement before hoping to see the light of competition again. It should resume at the beginning of August in Jerez, notably with World Champion Randy Krummenacher moving from Yamaha to MV Agusta. A good deal for the Swiss? Some wish him good luck with what would be the worst bike on the grid…

This is not going to please MV Agusta who will probably only moderately appreciate seeing his F3 rated as the worst bike on the Supersport grid. However, she seduced the reigning World Champion Randy Krummenacher who released a Yamaha R6 for F3. During the first round at Phillip Island, the new couple ends up in the gravel, but the Swiss is not yet filled with doubt: “ we had more experience with the Yamaha and therefore a better basis “, explains Krummi. “ But that doesn't mean MV is bad. I even think we can take this bike to a higher level than last year's Yamaha. We only need a few more kilometers for this ».

F3 still has a track record

An optimism that the boss of the PTR Honda team, Simon Buckmaster, breaks down: “ Krummenacher won't win the World Championship on MV Agusta because he won't finish every race », is convinced the Englishman. “ Even if he can adapt his riding style and exploit everything from the bike. De Rosa is not a bad driver, he never became world champion. And Krummenacher will not succeed with this bike. It's the worst bike on the board ».

However, it is with this F3 that From Rosa finished second in Australia. There MV Agusta has won new victories, 44 podiums, 16 pole positions and 11 best laps in the Supersport World Championship. The most successful driver is the Frenchman Jules cluzel, finalist in 2014 and 2016. MV Agusta has been waiting for a world champion title since Phil Read in 1974 in the 500cc category.
