Esponsorama is pleased to announce its rider roster for the 2019 FIM Enel MotoE World Cup.

Xavier Simeon and Eric Granado will compete for the first ever title in motorcycling history contested with electric motorcycles, with five races on different European circuits next year and 18 riders competing with the same machines.

After a year in MotoGP, it will be a completely new experience for Xavi Simeon. The 29-year-old Belgian rider, winner of the 2 Moto2015 German Grand Prix, is excited about this new stage of his racing career and hopes to be competitive and fighting from the first moment.

Eric Granado is the fastest and most popular Brazilian rider, and the 22-year-old rider has already competed in the Moto3 and Moto2 World Championship. He won the Moto2 European Championship in 2017 and now races in Brazil with Honda. Eric is known to be a fierce fighter and there is no doubt that he will also put on a spectacular show in the Energica Ego Corsa.

At the end of November, the first official tests of this class will take place on the Jerez circuit. On May 5, 2019, Jerez will also host the first of five races on the MotoE calendar next year. Siméon and Granado will then move on to Le Mans (May 19), Sachsenring (July 7), Spielberg (August 11) and Misano (September 15).

Xavier Simeon : “Without a doubt, it will be an important step in my racing career. I love the idea of competing in the first world championship with a whole new generation of racing motorcycles. It will be a completely different experience, but at the same time very exciting. I have been thinking about this change for months, because I am at a stage in my sporting career where it is very important to make the right decisions for the future. I had a year in MotoGP, which was not easy at all, and now I am very happy to take part in a new adventure in this championship and with my team. I can't wait to do the tests and see what we can do, because even though the bikes will be completely different, the level of the riders will be as high as in the other categories. But now there are still four races left in the current championship. From here to Valencia, I am determined to continue fighting and working hard to score points in MotoGP.”

Eric Granado : “I want to thank Raúl and Bocha and the whole team for giving me this great opportunity, I can't wait to go and test the bike for the first time in Jerez. The MotoE World Cup is something new for everyone. It will be a question mark on how the bike works and how we will have to adapt our riding style to be competitive. But I am sure that with the support of the team we will be competitive from the first race. MotoE will be an important step for road racing and I am happy to participate in this new adventure. I am ready and I will train hard to reach the maximum level for the first test in Jerez. I would like to thank my family and everyone who supports me from Brazil. Now, full throttle! »
