Unlike the R3 Challenge or the bLU cRU European Cup designed to detect tomorrow's champions and encourage their rise to the highest level, the R7 Cup is particularly aimed at the pleasure of its participants.

This of course starts with the motorcycle itself, equipped with a 689 cc twin-cylinder developing 73,4 horsepower at 8 rpm, a light and accessible sports car, as the R750 Cup will also be.

The formula indeed promises exceptional user-friendliness: Simplicity of the technical regulations voluntarily limiting the use of competition parts so that the machine remains close to the original for reduced costs and greater fairness between competitors, reception and the Yamaha village dedicated teams, technical advice, simplified logistics, entertainment, R7 Cup podiums, Yamalube prizes and Yamaha clothing... During the season, guest stars, professional drivers or ambassadors, will also come to give the competitors a heads-up in order to add spice to this passion common.

The R7 Cup therefore seems to be aimed at an older audience than the young talents who compete in Challenge R3 or in the bLU cRU European Cup, with a view to making the most of the pleasures of the competition while suffering as little as possible from the sidelines. more forbidding.

To this end, the new brand cup presented by Yamaha is being finalized but we already know that it will take place in 2022 as part of the Ultimate Cup Moto, comprising five or six events on the French circuits. more prestigious, from Magny-Cours to Le Mans, to Dijon – Prenois and to Vigeant. The dedicated rounds could include up to forty Yamaha R7s on the grid, and the limitation of the number of tires or even fairing and suspension kits at preferential prices are currently being studied.

For all those who want to get the leather without breaking their heads or breaking their wallet, the R7 will arrive in the Yamaha dealer network from November and the manufacturer will provide more details on the technical regulations and its support offers at this time. !

« The arrival of the R7 on our market immediately inspired us to plan a new brand coupe which would be aimed at all owners of this new sports model. For what ? The R7 is in no way a disguised MT-07. Our engineers focused on creating a sporty motorcycle, powered by the CP2 which offers both power and acceleration. A furious twin-cylinder in a chassis perfectly suited to both the track and the road. »

« Sprint or Endurance, we are in the process of putting together a complete program which will be aimed at both experienced drivers and enthusiasts wishing to strive to progress, whatever their age, in a rewarding and fun context. The R7 Cup aims to be accessible, without excessive resources, and we are also in the process of finalizing the nature of the prizes which will reward and motivate the drivers. We're as excited as you are! »
