The Yamaha VR46 Master Camp re-opens its doors for the 7th edition. With a Frenchman among the 5 pilots selected.

Yamaha Motor Co. and the VR46 Riders Academy are both set for a renewed Yamaha VR46 Master Camp in May. The seventh edition's program includes both new riders and the program's first entry among Yamaha Motor Europe NV's 300 WorldSSP2019 bLU cRU riders who will enter Yamaha's Motor Ranch VR46 training camp. Valentino Rossi from May 22 to 26.

The five young riders selected are all friends and rivals as they currently compete in the WorldSSP300 championship as part of Yamaha Motor Europe's Yamaha R3 bLU cRU Challenge. They are knowledgeable and ambitious, the perfect resume for aspiring Master Camp graduates.

Among the new riders are the Dutchman Finn de Bruin (18), Italian Kevin Sabatucci (20), Italian Jacopo Facco (19), the French Andy Verdoïa (16) and the Spanish Beatriz Neila (17), the first woman in Master Camp.

Much like the Yamaha Motor Europe Yamaha R3 bLU cRU Challenge, a nine-round competition as part of the 300 FIM Supersport 2019 World Championship (WorldSSP300), the Master Camp program is specifically designed to support talent. The Master Camp is endorsed by racing and fitness professionals and aims to give new impetus to Yamaha's young stars by improving their skills and professionalism, allowing them to take the next step in their racing career.

To improve the skills of bLU cRU participants, they will have the chance to learn from the three-time British Flat Track Champion and two-time American and European Flat Track Champion Marco Belli and fitness trainer Carlo Casabianca, and they will train at the Autodromo di Modena, Galliano Park, Fisio gym and on the beach, all this with the drivers of the VR46 Academy, who will accompany them every step of the way. Additionally, the seventh edition of the Master Camp will include new and exciting water racing activities, made possible by the Marine division of Yamaha Motor Italy.

To celebrate the new program period, there is also a new Yamaha VR46 Master Camp logo. The new branding comes with new Yamaha VR46 Master Camp gear for riders (made possible by Oakley, Saucony, Descente, Alpinestars, and VR46) and new merchandise for fans (which you can purchase HERE).

The training is entirely designed to improve the piloting skills of the Master Camp protégés, motorcycle control, balance, physical regime and choice of machines (on asphalt with handlebars Pirelli-equipped YZF-R3s , MiniGP on bikes YZ85 , in all- the land on the YZ250F et Yamaha YZ125 , and on the water with jet skis Yamaha EX Deluxe et Yamaha GP1800 ), as well as the technical know-how and motivation, to give them an advantage in the final seven rounds of the WorldSSP300 season.

Valentino Rossi : " It's incredible that the Yamaha VR46 Master Camp is already entering its seventh edition! Honestly, it's great that we managed to make this program a success and that we can train so many talented young runners. It’s a pleasure to welcome these five riders from the 300 WorldSSP2019 BLU cRU to my hometown, Tavullia.”

“Because Master Camp will be celebrating its fourth anniversary this year, we wanted to make some adjustments to the activities and do something special. Over the past three years, we've seen what works and what doesn't, what riders like and what they don't, and we've taken all their feedback into account. I am sure that the new program will be of great interest to them and will give them a lot of fun! It will be hard work, but if they enjoy the training, they will learn, adapt faster, and be more disciplined by adding the training skills to their regular training regimen after leaving VR46 Motor Ranch. Pleasure is therefore important.”

“I would like to thank Yamaha, VR46, as well as the sponsors and partners, who contributed to the organization of the Master Camp project as a whole. Helping young riders has been one of my projects since 2014, when I founded the VR46 Riders Academy. Seeing the young runners progress is really a great reward but also a great motivation to continue to attack and enjoy the race.”

Lynn Jarvis, Managing Director, Yamaha Motor Racing: “ We are very happy to welcome the WorldSSP300 bLU cRU riders from Yamaha Motor Europe for the second time. Yamaha Motor Europe is committed to supporting both its BLU CRU riders who compete in higher categories and young talents. Blú CRU is an initiative that allows talents to develop and take them to the next level.”

“As these five riders already have professional support from Yamaha, we know the standard will be high from the start. We are therefore confident that the new students will be able to handle the redefined program and have fun while training alongside the VR46 Academy pilots. Naturally, they will be very excited to try all the racing disciplines and motorized vehicles, but we hope that they will also take the fitness advice to heart, because health and endurance are essential to the success of a career in motorsport”.

“This edition of the Master Camp seeks to provide them with all the tools they need to finish the WorldSSP300 Championship in strong fashion. I would like to thank VR46 and the sponsors of the Yamaha VR46 Master Camp – Descente, Oakley, Saucony, Alpinestars, Pirelli, Marine division of Yamaha Motor Italy – for making this event possible and helping to realize the dreams of future racing stars. race ".
