National Motos wins for the first time in the EWC Dunlop Independent Trophy. This French team on Honda won the €4 bonus reserved for the winner of this Dunlop trophy in the first edition of the 000 Hours of Sepang in Malaysia. National Motos is ahead of RAC 8 and Tati Team Beaujolais Racing.
€20 in prize money was allocated to the top ten teams in the EWC Dunlop Independent Trophy at Sepang.

The first edition of the 8 Hours of Sepang was a grueling and difficult race due to weather conditions in Malaysia. Riding the Honda National Motos, Frenchman Valentin Debise and Japanese Hikari Okubo avoided the pitfalls of a wet track at the start of the race to win for the first time in the EWC Dunlop Independent Trophy. This historic Endurance team, victorious at the 2006 Bol d'Or, is back for the entire FIM EWC season. National Motos receives the €4 allocated to the winner at Sepang. He is ahead of another Honda, that of the RAC 000 entered in Superstock and driven by Guillaume Antiga, Wayne Tessels and Maxime Bonnot. RAC 41 receives €41 awarded in the EWC Dunlop Independent Trophy.

Delayed by a crash at the end of the race, Tati Team Beaujolais Racing (Kawasaki) took 3rd place in this Dunlop trophy with Alan Techer, Kevin Denis and Julien Enjolras. Already awarded a prize for its 3rd place at the Bol d'Or, Tati Team Beaujolais Racing receives €2 at the finish of the 700 Hours of Sepang.

Seven other private teams equipped with Dunlop were rewarded in this very first edition of the 8 Hours of Sepang. They received bonuses of €2 to €300 for 500th place in the EWC Dunlop Independent Trophy.

Renewed for the 5th season by Eurosport Events, promoter of the FIM EWC, the organizers of each race of the FIM EWC World Championship and the manufacturer Dunlop, the EWC Dunlop Independent Trophy is intended to support private teams equipped with Dunlop and which do not benefit direct help from a manufacturer. €20 in prize money is awarded over the three 000-hour races. The amount of allocations for each of the two 8-hour races has been increased this season by €24. This brings the total amount of bonuses intended to support private Dunlop teams to €10 this season.

Next meeting at the 24 Heures Motos on April 18 and 19, 2020 at Le Mans.
