KTM Racing has just announced that Bradley Smith, current rider for the Tech3 team, will be one of the firm's factory riders for the 2017 and 2018 seasons.

This announcement appears just a few days after the Briton clearly announced that he would not continue with Yamaha after the end of the 2016 season which has barely started.

Currently in the hands of Mika Kallio and Randy De Puniet, the KTM RC16 is currently in the development phase. She will make her first public appearance during the Austrian Grand Prix for a victory lap.

« The MotoGP project is going as planned,” explains KTM Motorsport Director Pit Beirer. “ The engineers and the test team carry out highly professional work with two motorcycles and the test riders. By signing Bradley Smith as our factory rider for the next two seasons, we can take another step forward on our path to MotoGP.«

The 2017 MotoGP chessboard is gradually taking shape.
