Jorge Lorenzo enjoyed the start of the school year in Austria. After three disastrous successive Grands where he drank the chalice to the dregs, the Majorcan rediscovered his taste for champagne and the joys of the podium. A dynamic that he will want to maintain this weekend on a Brno track that suits both him and his Yamaha. He has no choice if he wants to make up for his 43-point deficit on Márquez in the championship.

Jorge Lorenzo is better, but he is still looking for his hammer which will allow him to knock out the competition. In the Czech Republic, he could finally find him. Last year, he dominated the debates by repeating his success of 2010. But in total, there are nine podiums in fourteen editions, including five victories (2004, 2006, 2007, 2010, 2015) that Por Fuera claims in Moldova.

Moreover, for a week, Jorge Lorenzo became the second driver to have scored the most Top 3s in the premier category, i.e. 103, thus surpassing his compatriot Dani Pedrosa. With 179 podiums to his credit in the premier category, Valentino Rossi is now the only driver to have done better. So many signs that could fuel a virtuous circle with a view to a possible fourth victory this season: “ we obtained a very good result in Austria after a complicated period. I am relieved to have returned to the podium ».

«  I am delighted to return to the track this week near Brno. This track is magnificent and it suits the Yamaha YZR-M1 perfectly. I really like this track because it has lots of high-speed turns and I have very good memories of it. Last year we dominated the race and I hope to have good feelings there again. We have to stay in the fight and try to gain more points, like we did at Spielberg ". If the three-time World Champion achieves this Sunday, it would be his last achievement in Brno with a Yamaha since he will join Ducati in 2017, alongside Dovizioso.
