This first day of the Catalan Grand Prix came down to the color black for Jack Miller. Manhandled during the last Italian Grand Prix where he was absent while his until then anonymous teammate Rabat was recovering his health, the Australian was hoping to recover his health this Friday in Barcelona. In conclusion, it's quite the opposite: a black hole which made him take the old chicane for five laps which led to the meaning of a black flag and a final classification to be gloomy... Enough to have dark thoughts !

A situation which is further aggravated by a new performance from the teammate Tito Rabat superb sixth at the end of this start to the seventh meeting of the year. It almost sounds like a waking nightmare for Miller. But more is needed to destabilize the one who still has to convince the HRC to renew his lease...

Returning to his obstinacy in taking the old chicane of the route, he comments: “ I can't say what happened to me. I have a blockage I guess. However, I visited the track the day before with the other drivers and we talked about the best way to approach this new part of the circuit. But, I don't know... I was focused on managing my tires and I totally forgot that the route had been changed... ».

He then recounts this funny scene of a Marc Marquez and Cal Crutchlow trying to show him the right path… “ I was in my world when Marc and Cal overtook me. That's when I saw that I was being shown a black flag. I wondered what was happening to me and at first I thought I must be losing oil or something. Marc and Cal asked me to stay behind them and as we arrived at turn 12, the light came on... It's better to laugh about it... »

The team was not the last to have fun since it set out to find a GPS for its pilot…

The fact remains that during FP2, Jack Miller took the right path, but his performances did not take the route to the top of the timesheet… However, the Australian remains calm: “ this day was reasonably good, because I felt real progress in my settings compared to Mugello ". It is therefore less worse, without being frankly better. Jack Miller is thus eighteenth, 1.573 seconds behind the leader Marc Márquez…And almost a second from Tito Rabat...
