Gresini Moto3 CONCA team rider Fabio Di Giannantonio today underwent an operation to reduce a right clavicle fracture, which the eighteen-year-old Roman suffered during a fall on February 9, during the second and final day of testing on the Valencia circuit.

The operation was carried out in the Cattolica surgical center by Dr. Giuseppe Porcellini who inserted a plate to stabilize the fracture. The operation was successful and the “Diggia” will begin an intense rehabilitation program very soon. Giannantonio will be forced to miss the next test, scheduled for Jerez de la Frontera on February 22-23, but if all goes well, he will return to the track for the official tests scheduled for March 8-10, once again at the Jerez circuit. .

“The operation went well and morale is very high, as always! I will have to stay in the hospital until Thursday, after which I will start rehabilitation and, on Monday, I will return to the gym to resume some activity. Obviously it'll be a little while before I can get back in the saddle, but I'm confident I'll be in good shape in time for the IRTA test session in Jerez at the start of March. “
