The leader of the World Championship made the most of the new surface of the Bugatti circuit by setting the fastest time in the history of Moto3. He preceded Romano Fenati, Nicolo Bulega, Jules Danilo and Andrea Migno.

The sun was finally shining on this Sunday morning, the temperature was 13° for the air and 16° for the track. Romano Fenati took the lead in 1'43.271, ahead of Joan Mir, Davide Bulega and Jules Danilo. Aron Canet and Albert Arenas fell in the same turn, without contact. Patrick Pulkinen also fell shortly after, without seriousness for everyone.

Jules Danilo, motivated in front of his fans, moved to third behind Fenati and Bulega. Romano Fenati improved to 1'42.859. He preceded Bulega and Danilo by 0.6. Danny Kent, entered as a wild card, came third behind Fenati and Joan mir.
Joan Mir set the best time in 1'42.453 (new record) and preceded Romano Fenati, Nicolo Bulega, Jules Danilo and Andrea Migno.
