After the three overseas races which launched the 2018 season, Team Estrella Galicia 0,0 Marc VDS arrives in Europe this weekend to participate in the fourth round of the Moto2 world championship organized in Spain, on the circuit of Jerez.

With two podiums obtained in three races, Alex Marquez arrives in Jerez in third place in the general classification neck and neck with Mattia Pasini and only ten points behind the leader and winner of the Grand Prix of the Americas, Francis Bagnaia.

Marquez is full of confidence on the eve of this meeting because it was in Jerez that a year ago the Spanish driver won his first success in the intermediate class. Suffice to say that he will aim for victory again this weekend.

Joan mir will present himself in front of his audience following an incredible performance in Austin, on the Circuit of the Americas. The reigning Moto3 world champion finished fourth after finding himself twentieth on the first lap following a collision with Luca marini at the first braking.

The rise of Mir has not gone unnoticed and all eyes are now on the Majorcan who, seventh in the general classification, could aim for his first podium in Moto2 this weekend.

Marquez et Mir had the opportunity to ride on the resurfaced Jerez track last November, but with a higher temperature the conditions should be completely different this weekend.

Alex Marquez:
« We started the season well with three good races which today allow me to be in a good position in the general classification with only ten points behind the leader. We must continue on this path now that the championship returns to Europe and the races will continue from this Spanish Grand Prix. Jerez is a circuit that I really like and where I won my first Moto2 victory last year. I'm happy to come back with the objective of getting on the podium once again. And if the opportunity to win is offered to me, I intend to take advantage of it »

Joan Mir:
« I am happy with my progress over the first three Grands Prix because I managed to do better each time both in qualifying and in the race. We must now continue this momentum in Europe. Jerez is a difficult circuit, everyone has tested there and is fast. We arrive on our side with a good base and I can't wait for the weekend to start »
