It was a file that we believed to have been definitively closed since the decision of September 28, 2016 taken after 4 years of procedure by the Council of State against the environmentalist association Lubéron Nature, thus making it possible to obtain the reopening of the venerable Goult circuit (84), closed for 4 years by decision of the Prefect of Vaucluse.

But no, environmental associations have returned to the charge to try to withdraw the recently acquired approval of the cross-country route initially built on a landfill.

And, once again, the legal department of the French Motorcycling Federation has successfully stepped up to the plate to enforce common sense in the face of radicalized associations in search of scapegoats: we recall that any motorcycling event pollutes less than the slightest takeoff of a jet and that air traffic doubles every 15 years, with 38 million thefts in 2018. Easier to try to attack around thirty bikers…

Of course, this does not directly concern speed, but several activities on asphalt circuits have long been in the crosshairs of local residents or associations, and it is therefore very fortunate that the FFM systematically opposes this type of attack. .

FFM press release:

France Nature Environnement rejected once again

The France Nature Environnement association has just suffered a new defeat in its actions against motorcycling sport.

Indeed, France Nature Environnement accompanied by the Lubéron Nature association attempted once again to obtain in court the annulment of the approval order for the Goult circuit (84).

Let us remember that it has been almost 8 years since the French Motorcycling Federation and the Goult Moto-Club have been waging a battle to allow this Moto-Club to practice motorcycling sport on its circuit.

By a decision dated September 20, the Marseille Administrative Court of Appeal rejected all of France Nature Environnement's arguments and emphasized that “ this project is measured and reasonable and that the opening of this track will make it possible to concentrate local motocross practice on a dedicated site and thus minimize wild practice on the surrounding natural sites. » thus repeating the words of the President of the Lubéron Regional Natural Park.

The FFM will continue to support its clubs and will not hesitate to defend them whenever necessary.
