After further postponement of Andrea Iannone's return to racing, Paolo Ciabatti, the Sporting Director of Ducati Corse, reveals that Ducati asked Casey Stoner if he would replace the rider from Abruzzo : " We asked to Stoner to take Andrea's place but he refuse. And he won't be in Australia eitherand Iannone's absence persisted. »

Consequently, Michele Pirro is preparing to fly to Australia, in case Andrea Iannone's health prevents her from participating.

For this time, and after Stoner's new refusal, Ducati preferred to ignore its second rider, which the regulation allows, only once, before inflicting severe financial penalties.
