To appear alongside Xavi Virginie, Rookie of the Year 2016, the Tech3 Moto2 team will this year have Remy Gardner, who is not only Wayne's son, but also a young (18 years old) hopeful in the intermediate category.

The one who will lead him this season in the development of his Mistral M610 is called Nicolas Reynier and already has a long journey behind him.

After a first contact during tests in Valencia and Aragon, the French technician is optimistic about the potential of the Gardner/Mistral couple, as he confided to speedweek: “Working with Remy makes me very optimistic. From the first moments on the bike, Remy had a lot of feeling, he is very sensitive to what is happening with the machine. He can explain his feelings very well. This makes it easier for technicians. If a rider can explain very well what is good and what is bad, then working on the bike is much, much easier. For this reason, I am very, very happy with Remy. »

Nicolas Reynier continues: “I think we can help each other. He can help us develop the bike, we will help him find the perfect set-up. What I expect from 2017: improvement from him as a rider and improvement of the bike. I wish he catches up with Xavi Virgo. Xavi has more experience than Remy with this machine, but I want him to progress step by step to Xavi's level. In the final phase of the season he was constantly in the top-10. In principle, it should surprise us even more. »

As a reminder, after his Rookie of the Year title, his teammate, Xavi Verge concluded the November tests in Valencia in second position, behind Takaaki Nakagami.
