The MotoAmerica Superbike championship set down its bags this weekend at New Jersey Motorsports Park, on the 2,25-mile Millville circuit for the eighth and penultimate round of the season.

At the end of the qualifications, only Loris Baz managed to insert his Ducati into the middle of a quartet of Yamahas made up of the inaccessible Jake Gagne (Fresh N' Lean Attack Performance Yamaha Racing) already author of 13 victories in 14 races and in pole position ahead Matthew Scholtz (Westby Racing LLC), and the two other official Yamahas of Fresh N' Lean Attack Performance Yamaha Racing for Toni Elias et Josh Herrin, since the team exceptionally fielded three R1s this weekend.

The race was dominated once again by Jake Gagne who went it alone, finishing with a lead of more than 7 seconds at the end of 20 laps over the Yamahas of Matthew Scholtz and Tony Elias. Full box for Iwata whose spearhead only needs 2 points to be titled after this 14th consecutive success.

Jake Gagne: “It was another great day for the team. We did some productive testing, and we were able to understand how the bike was going to perform over the race distance. I got another good start and continued the laps until the end to achieve another victory. We have two twenty-lap races tomorrow, which will be a lot, but I’m ready for it.”

Great fight for 5th place between Loris Baz et Josh Herrin...

On Sunday, the warm up was surprisingly led by Hector Barbera on his Scheibe Racing BMW.

Jake Gagne then left no one to win the second race of the weekend, this time with almost 10 seconds ahead of the same Matthew Scholtz than the day before! With 25 new points when he needed 2, the Californian saw himself easily titled with four races remaining in the championship.

Josh Herrin completed a new Yamaha hat-trick while Loris Baz finished at the foot of the podium.

The third and final race of the weekend offered no surprises with a top 5 strictly identical to that of race 2.

Jake Gagne, Fresh N' Lean Attack Performance Yamaha Racing: ” What a weekend! It's incredible to be able to deliver this championship to the team, and to do it with three more wins is fantastic. I have to say a big thank you to this team for such an incredible effort throughout the year! We have a short break, then we'll get back to work. I hope we continue our momentum in the finale at Barber.”

Next and final round in Barber, Alabama next weekend.
