Álvaro Bautista has been a name often bandied about in the transfer market in recent times. To be honest, he was very seriously flirted with by Aprilia, his employer last year, and by Marc VDS Racing. The first city decided to Scott Redding while the second is still looking for an alternative solution to Jack Miller who signed for Pramac Ducati. But it won't be Bautista. And this is why.

The former 125 World Champion returned to the structure where he enjoyed the glory of being titled. This necessarily creates links, but these have been further strengthened thanks to the family spirit that reigns at Ducati. At least if we listen to the current teammate ofAbraham which has every chance of staying where it is in 2018: “ I'm having a lot of fun with this bike. I feel like I have great support from Ducati, even though I'm not an official rider ».

« I feel like I'm part of the Ducati family so I like my situation and my team. I also like this bike. My decision to stay where I am was therefore obvious. I had other options, including Aprilia and the Marc VDS Racing, with pros and cons, but, after reflection, I preferred not to move ».

Alvaro Bautista is having an honorable season, with ups and downs. For example, he finished fourth in Argentina but he also retired five times. He finished eighth last round in Austria, which was his sixth top 10 of the season. With his GP16, he is eleventh in the championship, 23 points behind the GP17 of Danilo Petrucci.
