It was an Andrea Iannone who was both enthusiastic and melancholy who took part on the Losail track in the presentation of the Aprilia troops for the 2020 MotoGP season. Happy, because he found his team on a track around a promising new RS-GP which will try to confirm in Qatar its good dispositions seen in Sepang during the three days of testing, before launching into the 2020 fray. Sad, because, for the moment, he cannot pilot it. His license is still suspended, as is his career, to the decision of a court which must rule on his positive test for a product classified as doping. But his presence showed that his employer was on his side...
Andrea Iannone chomping at the bit. He sees the off-season coming to an end, he regrets being unable to ride, especially with the new RS-GP, and he realizes that he risks missing the first Grand Prix of the season at Qatar. It will be from March 6 to 8, and in the meantime, the site is open for three days of testing this weekend, the last before the big jump into the competition.
The verdict on the procedure opened for doping is awaited and the stakes are not trivial: it is not only his season which is in the spotlight, but also the rest of his career. That being said, he was able to provide the arguments to demonstrate his good faith.
