In the Ducati clan which is currently putting MotoGP in regulated sections, Enea Bastianini is surprisingly one of the weak links even though he theoretically has the best possible rank within the Red Army. Official driver and therefore teammate of a Pecco Bagnaia who honors each weekend the n°1 who identifies his Desmosedici as the reference, the “Bestia” continues to pay a high price for a start to the season marked by an injury which left him kept away from a GP23 with which he needs some driving. Enea Bastianini arrives on a Montmelò track on which it has always shown its advantage in the days of Moto3. Indeed, from 2014 to 2018, he won a podium in every race except in 2017 where he finished fourth. P2 in 2014 (his first podium) and in 2015, P3 in 2016 and a victory in 2018, his last victory in the category, marked this convincing journey. But his best result in MotoGP is P10 marked in 2021, his rookie season.

The Italian does not have high expectations for this MotoGP race weekend which will be held not far from Barcelona. After missing most of the start of the season with a shoulder injury caused by the Portimao crash caused by a Luca marini in distress, he has not yet taken the measurements of his new Desmosedici GP. The objective of the Catalan weekend will therefore be to surround this bike in order to be competitive again.
