In less than a month now, the MotoGP season will be launched in Qatar. This on a Losail track which will receive, in around ten days, the teams for final tests before the first meeting of the year. But last week three days of testing took place in Malaysia, which not only revealed a high-level field and tightened up against the clock, but also Marc Márquez physically far from the mark. The fault is an operation on the right shoulder which is still being felt. So much so that rumors of the need for a second surgery emerged. Now, Honda responds and reassures... Or reassures itself?

At the end of three days of effort in the furnace of Sepang, Marc Márquez was not a pretty sight. Exhausted, grimacing with pain, he even admitted to falling due to fatigue. He finished his performance before the checkered flag, with this comment which cast doubt on the condition of his right shoulder operated on last November: “ during the training sessions they detected immediately that in one of the most important muscles, the deltoid, the nerve was somewhat damaged. This is something that can happen during an operation, it is not an error, and we started working really hard with other muscles to compensate for that. »

Certainly, but after 10 weeks, 92 sessions and 250 hours of work, the famous right deltoid is only at 60% of its potential. Finally, talking about a damaged nerve maintains the prospect of going back to see him with the scalpel to repair it…

An idea that Honda rejects. On the site solomoto.es, we can read that a spokesperson for Honda denies the rumor of a second operation. To be clear, for the manufacturer, Márquez will not undergo a second surgery before the start of the 2020 MotoGP season. Honda so reassure. And also reassures himself.
