Arriving for the very first time in India, on the Buddh International Circuit, southwest of New Delhi, Espargaro Pol had to erase the disastrous memory at Misano where, Grand Prix and test combined, the GASGAS Factory Racing Tech3 driver fell no less than 6 times!

Unfortunately, from FP1, number 44 crashed twice again without really understanding the reason, thus reducing both the enthusiasm he had for discovering this new circuit and the confidence behind the handlebars of his GASGAS RC16. His time of 1'47.480 put him in P18 before returning to the track this afternoon trying not to take too many risks, simply focusing on the laps to do and how to manage his bike on the Indian track. Ultimately reducing his time to 1'46.111, he placed nineteenth in the pre-qualifying practice session and will take part in Qualification 1 on Saturday.

Espargaro Pol is a charming man, always smiling and in a good mood. His motivation is undeniable and his desire to perform too, but the pressure he is under at the moment, due to his late return before the KTM ax falls, seems to make him skip steps, as evidenced by his 11 falls in four Grands Prix, one test and one day. Not ideal when KTM has to make its decision…

Espargaro Pol : “This morning we suffered two crashes during the first practice session, a big one then a smaller one, which made us lose a little confidence. In the afternoon I didn't want to make another mistake, I was maybe a little afraid of crashing again, so of course the lap times weren't ideal. It was a tough first day, but we'll sleep well tonight and do it again tomorrow. »
