George Martin

Jorge Martin is more than impatient to start this 2023 MotoGP season and for various reasons. First, he is known for being the kind of driver whose sprint race format should fit like a glove. Then, he still holds grudges against the Ducati staff for having left him at Pramac by instead setting his sights on Enea Bastianini. A priori, he will be the one who plays his card within the Borgo Panigale clan with a good GP23. A strategy which is confirmed in its technical choice of a fairing which will be different from the Italian red motorcycles…

George Martin will not leave his part to the dogs this year as he would see himself finishing with a resounding world title, since acquired by a private pilot. Before getting there, you will have to excel in the 42 races scheduled during the 21 meetings. Ducati gave him the means to do good to himself, and therefore to do harm to his own official flock. The pilot of 25 years wants to make its mark, a determination which was illustrated when validating the fairing…

In fact, the teammate of Johann zarco has chosen an aerodynamic package different from that which will be the daily life of Pecco Bagnaia andEnea Bastianini. A difference that he thus assumes in the columns of crash.net : " they chose the one that is more similar to last year's design » begins the Martinator who has opted for the other more “ground effect” version. “ It's strange, I don't really understand why, because at Sepang I had a very precise idea of the fairing, I found that it was much better ».

When asked if it was perhaps simply due to a difference in riding style, George Martin replied : " our driving styles are quite similar. Normally with Pecco, we choose the same things. Not with Enea. But with Pecco we are quite close, regarding the maps, the swingarm, the forks. SO I didn't understand why. That's why I still had this idea of changing at the last moment. But I said 'OK, I feel good, I know the bike and I feel strong to start with this fairing' ". A difference that will have to be kept in mind in this season's results.
