Things are speeding up and training is intensifying for the Grand Prix drivers who will come out of hibernation. From January 28, those of MotoGP will be plunged into the furnace of Sepang, quite a test for a return to school, but also a revealer of fitness levels. A deadline particularly awaited by Tom Luthi who finished the 2017 season on crutches which caused him to miss the first laps on the Honda of his new Marc VDS Racing team.

The Swiss is not alone in a preparation that he began by sliding down the slopes of Verbier in Switzerland. A skilled skier, he then went to the Recas Motocross route where Julian Simon framed it as he still does with Rabat since last year: “This training with Julian was really cool. We went karting, then there was time for motocross. I barely felt any pain in my injured ankle.” The duo was also accompanied byAntonio Lopez who will make his Moto3 debut with the Estrella team.

The 31-year-old driver who will team up with Morbidely concluded : “This season in MotoGP is a challenge for me. I don't just want to drive there. I want to learn there as quickly as possible and experience great moments there.” In addition to his stablemate, Nakagami at Honda LCR and Simeon at Avintia Ducati will be the other beginners.
