The MotoGP Grand Prix of Assen will not take place on the scheduled date. The Dutch government has ordered the cancellation of all major events for the coming months.

Few doubts now remain about the impossibility of holding the MotoGP Grand Prix in Assen, scheduled for June 28. No major events will be allowed in the Netherlands until the beginning of September. At a press conference, Prime Minister Mark Rutte spoke about the situation in the country amid the coronavirus crisis and how all necessary measures are being taken to avoid further risks. It is therefore impossible to think of an event that always involves thousands of motorcycle enthusiasts.

The MotoGP calendar is therefore inevitably doomed to new upheavals. Although an official communication from Dorna is missing, the race in Germany is now excluded (with the public) and we can now say the same about the event in Holland. It is still possible to start in Finland, which is currently planned for July 12. But Carmelo Ezpeleta also admits that it may not be possible to organize a Grand Prix before August (i.e. in Brno).
