The news of Bangkok Post, poorly written and since corrected, put the entire MotoGP world in turmoil for 24 hours in front of thecancellation announced of the Thai Grand Prix.
Fortunately, which would have been a first (it is always Dorna Sports and the FIM which jointly announce calendar changes), turned out to be unfounded, but the fact remains that all eyes were then focused on Indonesia, whose Grand Prix was the only one that could have saved the Asian tour, due to its official role as a replacement Grand Prix.
But where are we with Vinci's construction of this circuit in Mandalika, on the island of Lombok?

The date for the Thai Grand Prix is set for October 10, a week after the Japanese GP at Motegi, while the back-to-back races in Australia and Malaysia will take place from October 24 to October 31. This leaves 8 months to complete the work in order to compensate for a possible defection: not impossible, but we have to roll up our sleeves...
