Austria

MotoGP and its joyous Moto2 and Moto3 cohort will be hard at work in a week for an Austrian Grand Prix which will be the thirteenth of twenty stages on the calendar for this season. An appointment to be marked with a milestone since, for the first time, the drivers will take the new chicane of turn 2 which extends the pleasure of seeing the machines pass by 30 meters. As a result, past times must be archived for good. The tablets are waiting for their new names!

A chicane and 30 meters more will be parameters to take into account in an Austrian Grand Prix which, since 2016, has given pride of place to the power of the Ducati. But they are no longer alone while, last year, the wrath of heaven had consecrated the daring Brad Binder in the last laps done on slick, in the rain, with its KTM.

More recently, during the last match at Silverstone, it was Pecco Bagnaia who had won the bet, taking 17 more points in the championship to one Fabio Quartararo only eighth and who will have to fight on the handlebars of a Yamaha whose engine will be of no help to him... For his part, the still second in the championship that is Aleix Espargaró, who had heroically completed his race in England with a fractured right heel, the result of a violent fall in FP4, will test his physical condition and hope to also be able to gain points on the Frenchman.

Before arriving in Austria, the championships were restarted at Silverstone

But of 19 at August 21, attention will also be paid to the Moto2 and Moto3. Indeed, in the first category cited, Augusto Fernandez took control of a championship which remains close, by winning at Silverstone, thus marking his third victory in this year 2022. At the start of the 13th Grand Prix of the season at Spielberg, he leads with 13 points ahead of Ai Ogura and 15 ahead Celestine Vietti.

As for Moto3, the events in Great Britain put the Honda rider back in the saddle Dennis Foggia which materialized while the two leaders and GASGAS pilots found themselves on the ground in preparation for the finish. The Italian has stuck again to 42 points of the two Spaniards at loggerheads who are Sergio Garcia et Izan Guevara.

Finally, Austria will welcome the return of MotoE which will complete a program as follows:
