This Saturday, February 12, 2022, Marc Márquez answered questions from journalists from the Mandalika circuit in Indonesia, at the end of the second of three days of IRTA testing on this new circuit located on the island of Lombok.

We went to listen (via teleconferencing software) to the words of the Spanish driver who, like the others, was able to benefit today from more favorable track conditions to improve his times.

As usual, we report here the words of Marc Márquez without the slightest formatting.

Marc, your second place of the day is an encouraging result to say the least…

« I already said yesterday that I was starting to feel the bike well, and today we reached a new milestone. It's true that we finished second but I'm not worried about the time attack and my position at the moment. I'm focusing more on my pace, and during my last outing we tried different things on the bike, which allowed us to progress. »

You said you felt something special about this bike. Can you explain your point?

« In Malaysia I mainly drove to accumulate the kilometers. But after Sepang I told myself that I had to make the bike my own, and that's what I'm trying to do here in Mandalika. In Malaysia it was mainly a question of getting my bearings back after being away from motorcycling for a long time. But here in Indonesia the idea is really to make the bike match my riding style. For the moment we have only made progress in this perspective since yesterday, and we will therefore try to continue on this path tomorrow. »
