While Vale and his friends were considering the rehabilitation of the tracks of the Motor Ranch to train again soon, they were surprised to discover a seriously injured wolf. It was a young male who had fallen into a poachers' trap. These people, despite the confinement and the period of restrictions, did not hesitate to place a trapped rope next to the net which borders the Ranch de Valentino Rossi, in Via delle Vigne, at Tavullia.

Rossi and his friends immediately notified the CRAS “Centro di Recupero Animali Selvatici Regionale” of the province of Pesaro and Urbino, where Tavullia is located.

“This is not the first time that similar incidents have occurred in the Pesaro area,” reported the volunteers of the CRAS of Pesaro to Emanuele Pieroni of Moto.it.

This time, the poachers had no trouble approaching a private, fenced-in structure, with no people in the immediate area. But, all things considered, the wolf's best ally turned out to be unwittingly Valentino Rossi, who announced several days ago that he wanted to reopen the doors of the Ranch for phase 2, which began this Monday, May 4 and , above all, in light of the possibilities offered by the new directive on containing the contagion of Covid-19 and the directives issued by the Region on sporting activities.

Thus, Valentino staff went to the Ranch these days to prepare the structure for the resumption of training activities for Vale and the other Academy drivers.

It was the Ranch staff who found the young wolf who, exhausted, was lying on his side and ended up leaning against the net that demarcates the property to try to free himself from the rope that had trapped him.

The same people immediately requested police intervention, with volunteers from the CRAS of Pesaro arriving on site within minutes. The animal was released, but due to the serious injuries caused by the noose, veterinarians ordered its admission to the Sasso Marconi Wildlife Protection Center, for the necessary treatment.

The center staff has already given him a name: Lupo Valentino.
