Aprilia took advantage of the EICMA 2026 show to present its 2027 novelties, starting with the new liveries for its Factory range, but, more discreetly, the Noale-based firm announced the arrival of the RSV4 Obscure SPE.ED…
For Aprilia, the name "Factory" has always represented the pinnacle of cutting-edge technology applied to its sportiest and most exclusive motorcycles, models that are both highly sought after by the public and widely praised by critics.
These motorcycles constitute a family of high-end models: on one hand, the magnificent V4s, RSV4 et Thunder V4 On the other hand, the mid-range models that are benchmarks in their category, the RS 660 et Thunder 660, which will all benefit from particularly striking new decorations for 2027.
Aerodynamic flows were the common theme in 2026 and, for 2027, advanced electronics is the theme chosen by Aprilia. These two elements are among the essential and distinctive characteristics of the Factory models.
Aprilia is at the forefront of developing new electronic solutions designed to improve performance and safety.
All Factory models come standard with the best that technology can currently offer in this field.
Aprilia was the first manufacturer to introduce the "Ride by Wire" — the electronic throttle now used by everyone and without which many assistance systems could not function — both on a racing motorcycle and on a mass-produced motorcycle.
The aPRC (Aprilia Performance Ride Control) constitutes the most comprehensive set of electronic controls available, while the RSV4 Factory et Thunder V4 Factory are the only models on the market to have the technology Corner by Corner.
This system automatically adjusts the electronic settings for traction control, anti-wheelie, and engine braking based on the parameters chosen by the rider before hitting the track. Just like on the most advanced racing motorcycles.
To highlight these characteristics, the Aprilia Design Center created the new color variation “aPRC Backbone”, which is inspired by the complex architecture of circuits designed to carry data from Aprilia electronic systems.
The decoration consists of a series of red dots and lines, symbolizing the electronic signals that leave the control unit and are transmitted throughout the motorcycle.
All these elements are red and stand out against a spectacular background. glossy black backgroundgiving each Factory model a particularly striking appearance.
At the front of the tank is a panel whose design resembles that of a control unit, with the logo " has " in red.
A transparent section contains the word “Aprilia” represented in ASCII binary code.

At the same time, Aprilia presented a limited and numbered version of the RSV4, dedicated to track performance, with 500 units produced.
La RSV4 OBSCURE SPE.ED. is the latest evolution of an extraordinary and victorious project, and introduces solutions that make it more efficient, lighter and faster, thanks once again to the technology developed by aprilia-racing.
And now, things are getting serious: carbon wheels, new suspension and an even more advanced aerodynamic package derived from MotoGP, to make the most of the 220 hp V4, the most powerful in its category.
Highlights:
- Advanced aerodynamics with Leg Wings derived from Aprilia Racing
- Carbon wheels and components
- Weight in running order reduced to 201 kg (196 kg with the complete ART exhaust system)
- 220 hp V4 engine (223 hp with the ART full exhaust system)
- Öhlins mechanically adjustable suspension
We will return to the details of the beast's characteristics soon…
