Recently, Ducati announced that it would once again present its new product announcements in a series of online presentations. As in 2020 and 2021, the Ducati World Première 2023 series will take place over several episodes, each part presenting a different range of products.

Besides the episode titles, Ducati offered another clue: the final episode will be a model that was previewed to visitors to World Ducati Week. Although Ducati managed to prevent the photos from being made public, this new model is the next generation Ducati Scrambler. But the Ducati Monster SP looks set to join similar versions of the Panigale sports bike and Streetfighter, offering upgraded parts, less weight and more power.

The Monster was introduced in 2021, opening a new chapter in the model's legacy with a 937cc liquid-cooled V-twin engine and an aluminum alloy frame replacing the traditional steel trellis. Thanks to vehicle certification documents in Australia, Motorcycle.com can confirm that the Monster and Monster+ will be joined by a new Monster SP.

Unfortunately, the Australian homologation documentation provides no further information beyond the name and indicates that it will likely use a 937cc engine similar to that of the non-SP models. From what Ducati has given to the SP versions of the Streetfighter V4 and Panigale V4, we can assume that the Monster SP will receive a number of upgrades such as lightweight carbon rims and upgraded brakes. A dry clutch might appeal to Monster traditionalists, and we can probably expect a number of accessories like CNC-machined footpegs, a lithium-ion battery, or a carbon fiber fender.
