The press conference at the end of the Grand Prix from Portugal MotoGP 2025 met in Portimão Marco Bezzecchi (Aprilia Racing), Alex Marquez (BK8 Gresini Racing MotoGP) and Peter Acosta (Red Bull KTM Factory Racing) for their post-race debriefing.
Alex Marquez finished 2nd for his 12th MotoGP podium this season. He is the rider with the second-highest number of podiums this year after Marc Marquez, which has 15.
During the weekend in Portugal, he scored exactly the same number of points as Marco Bezzecchi : 32.

🎤 Alex, you won the Sprint yesterday, and you also won a Grand Prix this year, which had never happened to you before. But today, with this second place, is that still enough in your eyes, now that you are runner-up?
We saw your front tire on screen: you seemed to be managing it just enough to keep up with Marco. Was that the plan once you saw how the race was unfolding?
Alex Marquez: “Yes, I mean… honestly, today Marco was faster than us. He was braver, he had a clearer head. Right from the warm-up, I saw him flying on the track, and I thought to myself: “Well, this is going to be difficult.”
So I thought to myself:
“OK, nothing to lose, we’ll try to stay with him.”
I saw that the pace was very fast, but at that point, I destroyed my front tire, especially on the right side. And towards the end, it was difficult to maintain the lap times, the pace.
Because of that, I also suffered to keep second place against Pedro, but despite everything, I did my best, I managed to ride at a good pace.
We had some problems at the end of the race, but as I said, yesterday we were the fastest, and today Marco was much better than us.
🎤 The second question is a bit more of a gamble… In the final corner, you always looked incredibly fast. All the Ducatis were doing well, but you seemed to have something special there.
We've often seen you gain about ten meters on your opponents coming out of the bend and on the main straight. So, do you have a particular secret, or does this bend simply suit you better?
Alex Marquez: "I mean, today it wasn't like that. Today, Marco was faster than me..."
🎤 Throughout the weekend, everyone on TV was saying: “phew…”
Alex Marquez: “Yes, but not today. Today, Marco was faster than me. I couldn’t close the gap there. He had a better corner entry and was able to follow the line better. And it was precisely there that I destroyed my front tire.”
But we already knew that Marco and the Aprilia would be very fast here. Last year, Viñales was very fast from the first day, and this time they really clicked on Sunday: they were unbeatable!
So now we just have to keep working, and you know, the point where we suffered a little, like all the Ducati riders in Australia, is the fast corners with bumps.
We felt the same way here, and we need to improve on that for the future.
🎤 Alex, compared to yesterday's Sprint, when you were behind Marco, in what areas was he stronger today compared to your bike?
Alex Marquez: "I would say that, above all, I felt it in the first corners, in the flowing part of the circuit, you see, there, he was able to find something extra.
But I must also say that my feeling in the last sector, since the start of the weekend, was not very good, especially in the last corner, with the front end.
For this reason, I put too much stress on the front tire, and I had a lot of graining, because I had to force the motorcycle to maintain speed in that spot.
He, on the other hand, was able to achieve more speed and more turns at that point on the circuit, thanks to his riding style; that's probably what made him smoother than me.
